Product Overview

The Exposure Control Module (ECM) consists of a PWB (Printed Wiring Board) which is enclosed in a mechanical housing. The Exposure Control Module controls the power unit which in turn controls KV and mA at the X-Ray tube. The ECM PWB has five interfaces Arcnet, global realtime bus, a interface to the power unit, RS232 and I2C. The board is powered with 80C186XL 12 MHz microprocessor with a 80C287 coprocessor. The circuit board is 6 layer board made up of FR-4 Glass fiber, which is a composite material that consists of glass fabric, electrical grade epoxy resin. The material is strong and stiff, has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and outstanding electrical properties. The electrogalvanized and phosphatized material housing comes with pre-blanked ports and has the provision for mounting it on the system cabinets. All external electrical connections, teminals, and controls are marked on the housing cover to indicate the function. The module is labeled with identification labels. The ECM is listed to UL1950, and certified to CSA 1402C and EN6950 by TUV.
